My name is Rebecca McManamy, and I am a teacher at Barbara Cardwell Career Prep.

I am from Tyler, Texas and grew up in the East Texas area. I went to school through Chapel Hill ISD and gradudated from Chapel Hill High School in 2005. From there I went to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and majored in Secondary Education Social Studies. In 2009 I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts. After graduation, I moved back to East Texas and got my Texas certification in Social Studies, Science, and Generalist for grades 4-8 and Social Studies in grades 8-12. In December 2016, I finished my graduate studies and received my Masters of Arts in History from Sam Houston State University.

At my previous school, I have had the pleasure of teaching every subject in high school history and serve as history department head. As a teacher, I work to make sure my students always feel safe in my classrom and have fun learning about history and our place in the world.

I enjoy reading and crafting as well as playing with computers. Technology has always fascinated me, and I enjoy experimenting using it in new ways.
